Passionate about adult and lifelong learning, Helen established The College for Adult Learning for mature, work-experienced learners and mid career professionals seeking professional development options and work ready qualifications, which are relevant, adaptable and flexible.
Helen holds a Masters of Education and is working towards her PhD. She has worked with some of the leading names of the Australian University and TAFE sector across her extensive career in the industry. She has designed, developed and authored many workplace leadership and training programs, both in Australia and overseas.
An experienced Executive, educator and writer, Helen developed many of the programs currently offered by the college and is currently working on new, exciting delivery modes and innovations for online and blended learning. With a detailed understanding of the educational needs of industry, and a current knowledge of the changing business landscape (and the resultant challenges for the workplace), Helen is constantly updating CAL’s course content (across Certificate IV, Diploma and short courses online) to ensure they stay relevant and workplace ready.
In addition, she also spends a lot of her time coaching and mentoring the wide range of experienced learners currently studying with the college, as well as the many past students who return to CAL for ongoing support and career mentoring.
A founding Director of The College for Adult Learning, Rob has a keen understanding of the needs of business in relation to staff training and development. This understanding has been developed over many years in the field, working closely with businesses, academics and students alike. He is passionate about workplace training and has seen many companies improve their productivity and overall performance using targeted, needs based training – training developed specifically for adult learners.
An experienced, confident and engaging speaker, Rob brings his wealth of knowledge and understanding of business, sales and marketing to CAL’s students. He is an advocate of well-developed and clearly articulated business and sales strategy, and is both highly motivated, and skilled in motivating others.
Rob has extensive experience in business, having run his own successful companies. More recently, Rob has held senior positions with Swinburne University and TAFE (Swinburne Industry Solutions) and with private education providers, both working closely with industry.
This range of experiences guarantees that Rob is focused on finding the right ‘training’ solution for businesses and individuals. He has worked with many organisations across a diverse range of industry sectors to identify their learning and development needs and find a solution, which efficiently and effectively meets those needs. He particularly enjoys re-visiting clients to measure ongoing uptake of training outcomes and quantify the continuing benefits that the training has returned to the business.
Rob works hard to provide CAL’s clients with a true measure of their return on training investment and is confident he can deliver measurable outcomes to every organisation.
